Youth Connex Committee

Any youth dedicated to raising awareness and making a change in Innisfil are invited to join the Youth Connex Committee. Meeting virtually once a month for approximately an hour, the Innisfil YCC connects local teens, encourages input, and develops initiatives to enhance opportunities for youth in Innisfil. Participants in the Committee also earn community service hours. More information can be found here: https://innisfil.ca/innisfil-youth-connex-committee-2/ or by contacting Jodi Longland, the Town's Recreation Coordinator: jlongland@innisfil.ca.

Volunteering

Students looking to complete their Community Involvement hours can get involved with some initiatives at the Innisfil ideaLAB & Library:

  • **currently meeting in-person** Crafting For Humanity will teach youth the skills needed to complete projects that will give back to those in need (for example, homemade masks or crocheted scarves).
  • Book and Movie Reviews invite teens to advise their peers on the best books in the Library's collection by sharing their opinions.
  • The Senior Pen Pal program connects youth with a senior in the community to exchange letters and develop meaningful connections

All of the details can be found on our website: https://www.innisfilidealab.ca/teens/volunteer-opportunities/

Digital Media Lab Skills
