The Knights of Columbus are looking for teens to volunteer at their kids' Christmas Party! The last few years, because of covid, we had to settle for giving away gift bags and books at an outdoor Christmas event at the church, but this year we are returning to our indoor Children's Christmas Party!
The event is Sunday, December 10th at St. Mary's Church on Amelia Street, between the noon and 4 pm mass (about 1-3:30pm). We will need teens at the party to meet and greet families, help Santa, play Christmas music (ideally) or lead a singsong, mc (tell a few jokes, welcome Santa), face paint, help with crafts, etc. I would love to have one or two Food Service or Hospitality students to look after the food and drinks! We also need teens before the party to set up and decorate and to prepare the gift bags (outside, at my place, afterschool). I may also have jobs for teens to pick up and take home to do (preparing crafts). We'll need help cleaning up after the party as well. Teens can pick one or two jobs or try a variety, as they wish.
Please can you have interested teens text me at 705) 321-5854 to sign up and indicate what they are interested in doing? Teens can work as many or as few hours as they wish, and sign up with a friend if they want. My husband (Richard Lalonde) is the Knight's of Columbus contact and he will sign their volunteer forms.
The teens have always enjoyed themselves in the past and we have enjoyed working with them! Please contact me if you have any questions and I hope we get many teens volunteering! Thank you!
