Schools Closed - January 17, 2021

Due to poor visibility and deteriorating road conditions, a decision has been made to close all schools and board office locations in the Simcoe Muskoka District School Board today. This means that in addition to buses being cancelled, our school buildings will be closed to all students and staff. Students can access remote learning through their virtual learning classroom.


Skills Ontario Skilled Trades & Tech – UMOJA Series

Skills Ontario Skilled Trades & Tech – UMOJA Series. This highly anticipated virtual conference is comprised of three sessions (Elementary, High School and Parent/Guardian) and focuses on promoting careers in the Skilled Trades and Technologies industries for Black students and their families. It includes an information packed Skills Ontario presentation and students will also have the opportunity to hear from featured speakers in the trades/technologies industries from the Black community. Following the conference, students will receive a comprehensive digital package that summarizes the conference content, assists with navigating post-secondary pathways and assists with identifying and accessing programs and resources.

Volunteer Opportunity - Innisfil Drive Through Santa Claus Parade

We are hosting the Innisfil Static Santa Claus Parade, at the Innisfil Rec Centre on Innisfil Beach Road on Sunday, Nov. 28, 2021. The floats will be parked in the south parking lot, and vehicles will drive through the parade route. Last year we had 11 floats and over 900 vehicles drove through the parade route in 2 hours. This year we will be having 25 floats, and expect to have many more vehicles drive through.


Writing Contest - Creative Works 2021

The South Simcoe Arts Council has been shining a spotlight on up and coming writers of all ages, in all genres through its Creative Works Writing Contest since 2016.


OYAP - Build a Dream Event for young women in grades 7 - 12

On Wednesday, November 10 at 6:00 p.m., our Board’s Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program is hosting a Virtual “Build A Dream” Event for young women in grades 7 - 12. This event is part of a larger mission to inspire, empower and educate young girls about non-traditional career paths, as we work towards the end goal of building a diverse workforce.
